Childcare providers play a significant role in helping preschool-age children prepare for kindergarten. Those in the field use play and other instructional techniques to support a child’s development.

A childcare provider helps strengthen a child’s social skills by teaching them how to work together with their peers. They also increase children’s creative thinking with activities, such as art, dance, and music.

In addition to the academic side, a childcare provider is responsible for the safety of infants, toddlers, and younger children. They are also responsible for their well-being, including feeding meals, supervising playtime, calming children down, and offering nap times.
