Covid-19—childcare Food Pick-up Remote Learning In Nyc
All NYC public schools are closed until April 20th—we’re here to help you locate resources to support your children and family.
If you need food, 400 school locations will be serving meals TO GO for the GENERAL PUBLIC from 7:30 a.m. through 1:30 p.m Monday through Friday. You can pick up three meals a day per person or for all your family members at the same time. No registration, ID, or documentation is required to pick up meals. And no one should be turned away or go hungry. You can find the closest location serving meals by going to the NYC DOE website.
If you need a computer or tablet or if you have other technology needs you should contact 718-935-5100. Or if you can, fill out an online survey both these options are now offered in 9 languages:
If you need childcare, the Department of Education has 70 “Regional Enrichment Centers” and childcare sites open from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. for children of healthcare, emergency services, and transit workers, as well as grocery store, pharmacy, & food workers, REC & feeding staff, and other front-line workers, regardless of whether they go to public or private school. These centers have small classes, serve 3 meals a day, have strict safety policies around social distancing and are regularly deep cleaned.
