Fun Learning and Extra Curricular Activities

Extra Curricular Activities are Fun at TLC Schools!

extra curricular activities

Extra curricular activities are a great way for your little student to shine outside of normal early education curriculums.

At TLC, we believe that a well-rounded curriculum should include extra curricular activities. These additional activities supplement our educational programs and create a well-balanced environment for your child. Our school has age-appropriate playgrounds and a gymnasium or an all-purpose room to accommodate all our extra-curricular activities.

Computers

Our computer rooms are equipped with new technology and learning games that will teach your child to be familiar with a computer. Our computer rooms are monitored and our facilities are secure. Allowing young children to use computers can be beneficial in a number of ways because computer use: prepares children for future computer use in school; introduces educational skills; improves problem-solving skills; improves long-term memory and manual dexterity; teaches children spatial and logical skills; stimulates language comprehension; and even boosts self-esteem and confidence. Internet access can help kids become more creative and communicative, according to the United States Department of Commerce; computer use can also improve academic growth and expose children to worlds they might not encounter otherwise.

Playgrounds

At our TLC Child Development Center, you will find a variety of playgrounds to provide plenty of fun and exercise for your child. Each of our playgrounds is equipped to fit a specific age group with features such as jungle gyms, sand boxes, and even a three-foot pool. Unstructured, creative, physical play lets children burn calories and develops all kinds of strengths, such as learning how the world works. In free play, children choose the games, make the rules, learn to negotiate and release stress. Free play often involves fantasy. If children, say, want to learn about being a fireman, they can imagine and act out what a fireman does. And if something scary happens, free play can help defuse emotions by working them out. Your child is sure to enjoy outdoor playtime at TLC.

Town Square

Town Square is a place where your child can explore the heights of his or her imagination! The Square includes banks, cafes, gas stations, and much more, providing a wonderful setting for make-believe fun. Play can help lay a foundation for learning the skills we need for social interactions. The Town Square encourages children to pretend, interact with each other and serves as an assembly space.

Wading Pool

TLC pools are used regularly by our children during the summer. Children in our Toddlers classes are introduced to the water with Splash Days, and older children have regular pool and slide time. Not only do children have a blast in the water at TLC, we also use pool time to teach the children water safety and introduce them to swimming skills. Time spent in the pool can build a child’s confidence, reduce water-related fear and anxiety, and help strengthen their little bodies. Researchers have found that swimming at a young age can help children achieve a wide range of skills earlier than children who do not swim.

At TLC, we believe that a well-rounded curriculum should include extra curricular activities. These additional activities supplement our educational programs and create a well-balanced environment for your child. Our schools have age-appropriate playgrounds and a gymnasium or an all-purpose room to accommodate all our extra-curricular activities.
